About Me:

My experience with social media management, copy editing and PR communications has prepared me for a career in the Public Relations field. I’m passionate about sports media and storytelling and I believe that people behind the scenes have as much importance as the people in the spotlight. As an aspiring professional in the PR field, I feel as if my experiences and knowledge have prepared me to be successful.

PR Writing:

While taking a Strategic Writing & Media Relations course, I was able to hone in on my PR writing skills. Within this course, I had the opportunity to write a news release detailing the drop of the new Adidas RPT-02 SOL headphones, powered completely by light.

This blog has allowed to write about what I am passionate about and share my own perspective of the marketing strategies of a major brand like Nike. On top of that, I have gained knowledge and experience building a website through WordPress. I have built a personal brand through this blog site, and will continue to tailor it to my professional experiences and personality.

Social Media:

As a freshman at the University of Oregon, I had the opportunity to lead the promotion for my fraternity’s philanthropy event, “Pizza & Puppies with Pi Kapp”. This philanthropic effort was a fundraising event aimed to raise money for Best Buddies, a non-profit that supports individuals with varying mental and physical disabilities. By posting on Instagram and FaceBook leading up to the event, awareness was spread. Nearly 200 people attended and we raised roughly $2,000.

Copy Editing:

For the past two years, I have held a position as a copy editor at the University of Oregon’s student-ran newspaper, Daily Emerald. I have edited sports, news, opinion and breaking news stories. One story in particular was a December 2021 piece which broke the news of the hiring of Oregon football’s new head coach Dan Lanning. To read the article, click here.

Graphic Design:

While taking a Strategic Public Relations Communication course, I was tasked to create an infographic to display visual storytelling rather than just writing. I created this infographic to highlight the importance of staying active and living a healthy lifestyle. This graphic is targeted mainly to people in the age group of 20-40 to build healthy routines before it’s too late.

Client:

While taking a Strategic Planning & Cases course I had the privilege to work with Salina Killa, a TikTok star and rising musical artist. Myself and two partners developed a plan to garner more attention around Salina on social media before she releases a new EP in May 2023. With several objectives to meet and events planned, Salina expressed that she will be incorporating parts of our plan as she moves forward in her TikTok and music career. Attached above is a snippet of the plan outlining our analysis of Salina and objectives for the future.
